In the pivotal AFC East game between the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets on “Monday Night Football,” the Bills prevailed.

On “MNF,” the Jets were defeated 23–20 by the Bills (4–2), dropping the Jets to 2-4 and third in the division. The game was almost decided for Buffalo when Aaron Rodgers was intercepted by Taron Johnson in the final minutes.

Numerous flags were thrown during the match. Together, the two teams received 22 penalties for 204 yards. Particularly sloppy was the fourth quarter, where the referee crew became engaged in the final seconds.

The Jets’ loss ushers in the era of Jeff Ulbrich, who takes Robert Saleh’s place after the team’s Week 5 loss to the Vikings. Now, it will be difficult for the Jets to compete in the division. In Week 7, they play the Steelers on “Sunday Night Football” in what might be their season-ending matchup.

Josh Allen, the quarterback for Buffalo, carried on with his productive and successful season. Allen gained 215 yards and two touchdowns on 19 of 25 passes. With 20 carries for 97 yards and three catches for 55 yards, running back Ray Davis had a bit of a coming-out party.
