In their dominance over the Saints on Monday night, the Chiefs used inventive play.

Kansas City had to assemble their offense more than normal in Rashee Rice’s absence, and they succeeded admirably as Patrick Mahomes connected with eight different receivers for 303 yards in the game. However, Mahomes failed to complete a touchdown pass during the contest. Instead, a pair of rushing touchdowns and four Harrison Butker field goals pushed the Chiefs ahead of the Saints, 26-13.

Derek Carr, the quarterback for the Saints, suffered an oblique injury during the procedure. Against Mahomes, Carr’s overall record fell to 1-9, and his dismal Raiders record followed him to New Orleans.

Saints lose on downs following Derek Carr’s incomplete pass
Derek Carr and the Saints have challenges from time and field position these days.

To continue their drive, the Saints needed to convert a fourth-and-eight. Chiefs DC Steve Spagnuolo applied further pressure, causing Carr to fumble the ball behind him. Nevertheless, Carr hit Mason Tipton with a flawless pass that sailed through the wide receiver’s hands.

There are 9:32 remaining in the game when the Chiefs take over at their own 41-yard line.
